the idea of "non-dual method" in the vimalakirti sutra deeply influenced the idea of "non-dual" in zen. that is, the so-called "movement and stillness are neither two, truth and delusion are not two, vimalakirti is the only way to enter the only way." the vimalakirti sutra has a profound influence on han buddhism and even chinese culture. discourses such as "only the pure land of the mind", "troubles are bodhi", and "mustard seeds are sumeru" are reflected in the main methods of zen, tiantai, and huayan sects. the words "the only way to do the non-dual method", "out of the mud without staining", and "scented and accumulated in the heavenly kitchen" are also derived from the vimalakirti sutra.
